Dave is the Director of National Security Initiatives at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In this role, he supports both the Vice Chancellor for Research and Vice Chancellor for University Relations to identify national security research opportunities and build strategic national security partnerships in Wisconsin and beyond. This work supports national security, defense, and intelligence priorities, and coordinates a strategic portfolio of unclassified dual-use research.
Dave also serves as a Cyber Warfare Officer and Military Intelligence Officer in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, and previously served as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer and Space Cadre in the United States Navy Reserve. He holds a PhD in Cyber Defense, master’s degrees in Cybersecurity Policy and Intelligence Studies (Information Warfare), and is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Naval War College, and Joint Forces Staff College.
